Notice is hereby given that the Illinois Chapter of APCO International will hold its annual election for the following positions for the 2009-2010 term.

President

1st Vice President

2nd Vice President

Executive Council Representative

Directors - 2 positions

Member qualifications for Illinois APCO Executive Board positions are as follows as defined in the Chapters Bylaws:

Section 5 Candidates for Office

5.1 Candidates for President, First Vice-President or the Chapter's Representative to the Executive Council shall meet or exceed the minimum qualifications listed below:

5.1.1 Be a current Active category member of the Association in the Illinois Chapter.

5.1.2 Served two full terms as a voting member of the Illinois Chapter Executive Board in good standing prior to the election.

5.1.3 In the absence of candidates under this section, the Executive Board will declare an open election for office vacancies and the requirements in paragraph 5.1.2 will be waived.

5.2 Candidates for the offices of Second Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer or a Chapter Executive Board member shall meet or exceed the minimum qualifications listed below:

5.2.1 Been an APCO-International, Inc. member in good standing for a minimum of two full years; and

5.2.2 Been an Active category member of APCO International, Inc. for the immediate past year in the Illinois Chapter.

5.2.3 In the absence of candidates under this section, the Executive Board will declare an open election for office vacancies.  The requirements in paragraph 5.2.2 will be waived and the candidates will only need to be an Active category member at the time of the election.

The annual election numinations are conducted under the guidelines as specified in the Illinois Chapter Policy Manual as listed below:

ARTICLE IV:  EXECUTIVE BOARD

SECTION 4.3:  NOMINATION PROCEDURES
PURPOSE
To establish a procedure for nominating Chapter members for election to the Illinois APCO Executive Board


AUTHORITY
Nominations of candidates for the Executive Board are authorized by Article IV, Section 4.2 of the Chapter's Bylaws.


POLICY

1.The Nominations Committee shall evaluate the qualifications of each candidate and shall certify compliance with these requirements to the Quorum.
2.Nominations shall be taken from the floor at a business meeting preceding the annual election.
    2.1The Nominating Committee chairperson shall ask for nominations from the floor for each office scheduled for election.
    2.2The Nominating Committee chairperson shall ask three consecutive times for nominations for each office scheduled for election prior to closing the nominations for each office.
