Region 54 (Southern Lake
Michigan) Public Safety Regional Planning Committees will hold a plan
review meeting on Wednesday November 5th, 2008 as follows:
Region 54 800 MHz Public Safety
Regional Planning Committee meeting will convene at 1pm at the Grundy
County Office of Emergency Management 1320 Union Street, Morris, Illinois.
The purpose of this meeting is to:
a. Application from County of
DeKalb, IL
b. Application from City of
Rockford, IL.
c. Review of old business
d. New business
Region 54 700 MHz Public Safety
Regional Planning Committee meeting will convene immediately
following the 800 MHz RPC meeting at the Grundy County Office of
Emergency Management 1320 Union Street, Morris, Illinois.
The purpose of this meeting is to:
a. Update Region 54 plan
reflecting the FCC release of its "Second Report &
Order" detailing its decisions impacting the
Upper and Lower 700 MHz
bands in early August 2007.
b. Status of Plan to Adjacent Regions.
The Region 54 Public Safety
Regional Planning Committee meetings are open to the public. All
eligible public safety providers whose sole or principal purpose is
to protect the safety of life, health, or property in the Southern
Lake Michigan area would utilize these frequencies. It is essential
that not only public safety, but all government, Native American
Tribal, and non-governmental organizations eligible under Section
90.523 of the Commission's Rules be represented in order to ensure
that each agency's future spectrum needs are considered in the
allocation process. Administrators who
are not conversant with
telecommunications technology should ensure that their respective
agencies are represented by suitably conversant staff.
All interested parties wishing to
participate in the planning for the use of public safety spectrum in
the 700 MHz, 800 MHz band, and/or the newly allocated 4.9 GHz band
within Region 54 are encouraged to attend. For further information,
